KYC – Important Advise for reducing Identity Theft issues

KYC

Important Advise for reducing Identity Theft issues:

We keep issuing and submitting our KYC(Know Your Customer) photocopy documents like (Identity and Residential Proofs) to various people. Be it for housing loan or car loan or other loans, New bank accounts or credit card application or gas connection or driving  license or for investments in mutual funds or lic policy or buying train tickets and most importantly for buying/renewing/upgrading new sim card or when you travel at the hotel, etc… we submit these self certified photocopy documents.

At almost all these places they ask for self certification on these photocopy documents.

We immediately sign those photocopy documents and hand over.

Just imagine your self certified copies are freely available in the hands of such persons & those self certified photocopy documents can be used by them for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING!

Off late lots of SIM card reissuance complaints are being observed. Financial frauds and funds transfer offence are increasing.

Its really serious and its been seen that in most of the anti social elements activities, KYC photocopy documents are sourced from the SIM card sellers or Bank or Hotels.

You can even get these photocopies from Bhel seller, Sandwich seller, Wada Pav seller.

Hence, please inculcate a ‘HABIT’ of writing the agency name who is collecting, date, time and purpose for which you are submitting the self certified KYC photocopy Documents so that those documents cannot be used or reused again.

Please share this as much as possible.

I feel it’s very important to write the collection agency name, the date, the time, and the purpose, which we never do while submitting KYC photocopy documents.

Here after sign, make sure you sign somewhere close to the image so that it cannot be torn off:

This Photocopy is Given to ____________________
